“Many people still think about disability through a charity mindset:

‘Let’s help them because they are weak.’

‘Let’s give them relief goods first.’

‘Let’s assign them as victims in drills.’

But this perspective creates more harm than support.

Today, we follow two important frameworks:

The Social Model of Disability

Disability is not caused by the person.

It is caused by the barriers around them.

Integrates them in the system to build resilience

The Rights-Based Approach

Persons with disabilities have the same rights to:

  • safety
  • information
  • participation
  • leadership
  • and decision-making

Inclusion is not optional.

It is a right.”
